Future Professional Dress Code by Program
All Future Professionals are expected to maintain a professional appearance and hygiene at all times while in attendance.
Hygiene Expectations for All Programs:
- Hair must be clean and well-maintained prior to arriving at school.
- If Cosmetics are going to be worn, they should be applied before arriving.
- Nails should be clean and well-groomed.
- Personal hygiene should be maintained daily, including brushing teeth and using deodorant.
- Clothes must always be neat and clean.
- Name tags are required.
COSMETOLOGY PROGRAM DRESS CODE
Required Attire
- All black attire only (no prints, designs, or embellishments).
- Tops:
- Sleeveless tops (must be at least 3 fingers wide at the shoulder)
- Black blouses
- Solid black sweatshirts with no hood
- Sweatshirts, t-shirts, or jackets featuring the Paul Mitchell or school logo
- Bottoms:
- Solid black pants (sweats, pajamas, and denim are not allowed)
- Solid black skirts or dresses that fall below the fingertips when standing
- Shoes:
- Close-toed, practical, professional, and comfortable
- May be colorful or have print
- Accessories:
- Stylist hats, scarves, and stylish head wraps
Unacceptable
- Denim, white, gray, or any color
- Foot thongs, beach sandals, slippers, or open-toed shoes
- Tank tops, spaghetti straps, crop tops
- Sweatpants or hooded sweatshirts
- Printed t-shirts (except Paul Mitchell logo)
- Shorts
- Skirts/dresses above fingertips
- Baseball hats, visors, bandanas, caps, beanies
- Spandex or biking shorts
- Headphones, earphones, or headgear
- Sunglasses
MANICURIST PROGRAM DRESS CODE
Required Attire
- Solid black pants (sweats, pajamas, and denim are not allowed)
- Gray tops (solid gray, no prints)
- Sleeveless tops must be at least 3 fingers wide
- Shoes:
- Close-toed, practical, professional, and comfortable
- May be colorful or have print
- Accessories:
- Stylist hats, scarves, and stylish head wraps
Unacceptable
- Denim or clothing colors other than black pants and gray tops
- Foot thongs, beach sandals, slippers, or open-toed shoes
- Tank tops, spaghetti straps, crop tops
- Sweatpants or hooded sweatshirts
- Printed t-shirts (except Paul Mitchell logo)
- Shorts
- Skirts or dresses
- Baseball hats, visors, bandanas, caps, beanies

- All black scrubs
- Undershirts (if worn): Solid black, white, or gray long sleeves
- Shoes:
- Close-toed, practical, professional, and comfortable
- May be colorful or have print
- Accessories:
- Stylist hats, scarves, and stylish head wraps
Unacceptable
- Denim or clothing other than black scrubs
- Foot thongs, beach sandals, slippers, or open-toed shoes
- Tank tops, spaghetti straps, crop tops
- Sweatpants, or hooded sweatshirts
- Printed t-shirts (except Paul Mitchell logo)
- Shorts, skirts, or dresses
- Baseball hats, visors, bandanas, caps, beanies

NON-COMPLIANCE
Future Professionals who fail to comply with the dress code or hygiene standards may be coached and may receive an advisory.
