Professional Image (Dress Code)

All Future Professionals must adhere to the following professional dress code while in attendance:

  1. Future Professionals must wear solid black only. No prints, designs, or embellishments.
  2. Clothing should be neat and clean.
  3. Shoes should be close-toed, practical, professional and comfortable. These may be colorful or have print.
  4. Hair should be styled prior to arriving at the school.
  5. Any cosmetics should be applied prior to arriving at the school.

The following is a list of acceptable dress:

  1. Sleeveless tops - at least 3 fingers wide.
  2. Black blouses, solid black sweatshirts with no hoods, sweatshirts with no hoods/t-shirts/jackets with the Paul Mitchell logo or the school.
  3. Stylist hats, scarves, and stylish head wraps.
  4. Solid black dress pants.
  5. Solid black skirts/dresses that fall below the fingertips.
  6. Name tag.

The following is a list of unacceptable dress:

  1. Denim of any kind.
  2. White, Gray, or color of any kind.
  3. Foot thongs or beach sandals.
  4. Tank tops, spaghetti strap tops, crop tops.
  5. Sweatpants.
  6. Joggers.
  7. Sweatshirts, hooded sweatshirts, jackets and printed T-shirts other than Paul Mitchell logo.
  8. Shorts of any kind.
  9. Skirts and dresses that fall above the fingertips when standing up.
  10. Baseball hats, visors, bandanas, caps, or beanies.
  11. Spandex or biking shorts.
  12. Headphones, headgear, and/or earphones are not permitted.
  13. Sunglasses.
  14. Slippers.
  15. Open-toed shoes.

Future Professionals who fail to comply with the Future Professional dress code may be coached and may receive an advisory.
